TabEase Privacy Policy

TabEase is a Chrome extension designed to help users organize, clean up, restore, and manage browser tabs. This Privacy Policy explains what information TabEase uses, how it is stored, and how it is handled.
Information TabEase Uses
TabEase may access information about tabs in your browser in order to provide its features, including:
- Tab URLs
- Tab titles
- Tab status such as whether a tab is pinned
- Tab timing or activity information used for stale-tab detection
- Lists of tabs saved for Startup Tabs, Previous Session recovery, cleanup history, or restore
- User settings such as stale-tab thresholds and protected websites
How Information Is Stored
TabEase stores its extension data locally in your Chrome browser profile using
chrome.storage.local. This includes settings, saved tab lists, previous-session data,
and cleanup/restore history.
TabEase does not require a TabEase account and does not currently sync this data to a TabEase server.
How Information Is Used
The information accessed by TabEase is used only to provide extension functionality, including:
- Displaying your currently open tabs
- Detecting stale or duplicate tabs
- Allowing you to close, restore, or protect tabs
- Saving Startup Tabs
- Providing Previous Session recovery
- Maintaining cleanup history and restore functionality
- Applying your extension preferences
Data Sharing and Sale
TabEase does not sell your personal information or browsing data. TabEase does not share your tab data with advertisers or data brokers.
Remote Processing
The current TabEase v1.0.0 release does not send tab URLs, tab titles, session history, or cleanup history to an external TabEase backend for processing.
Chrome Permissions
TabEase requests Chrome permissions only to provide its tab-management features. These permissions may include access to tabs, local extension storage, and website access needed for user-facing protection or tab-management behavior.
Data Retention and Deletion
Data stored by TabEase remains in your Chrome extension storage until it is cleared by the extension, cleared by you, or removed when the extension is uninstalled or Chrome profile data is deleted.
Security
TabEase is designed to minimize data collection and keep tab-management data local to your browser profile whenever possible.
Children's Privacy
TabEase is a general-purpose browser productivity tool and is not directed specifically to children.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when TabEase features or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
